The Dalmore Port Wood Reserve is an indulgent, smooth single malt from the Highland distillery founded in 1839 at Alness on the Cromarty Firth, famous for its twelve-point stag emblem and for master distiller Richard Paterson's mastery of rare casks. It is matured in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, then finished in aged Tawny Port pipes from Portugal's Douro Valley, and bottled at a fuller 93 proof.

The aroma brings sweet red berries, Seville orange, plummy fruit and sticky toffee pudding, then a palate of nectarine, creamy caramel, roasted chestnut and Java coffee, finishing with rich plum, sultana, Sanguinello blood orange and macerated cherry.
