The Dalmore Cigar Malt Reserve was specially crafted by master distiller Richard Paterson to be the perfect accompaniment to a fine cigar, from the Highland distillery founded in 1839 at Alness on the Cromarty Firth and famous for its twelve-point stag emblem. It is matured initially in American white oak ex-bourbon casks and 30-year-old Matusalem Oloroso sherry butts, then finessed in premier cru Cabernet Sauvignon wine barriques from Bordeaux.

Bottled at a fuller 88 proof, it is rich enough to stand up to smoke: dried fruit, cinnamon, orange and dark chocolate on the nose, then a big, velvety palate of toffee, red wine-cask fruit, vanilla, ginger and sherried oak, finishing long and warming with lingering spice.
