Riqueza Cultural is made at Tequila Selecto de Amatitán, NOM 1459, in Amatitán, Jalisco, in the lowland Tequila Valley. It is 100% blue Weber agave cooked in stone and brick ovens, crushed on a roller mill, fermented with spring water in stainless steel tanks, and double distilled in stainless pot stills, bottled at 40% ABV. As an Extra Añejo it has spent at least three years in oak, the longest aging category in tequila, and the result is a dark, oak-forward tequila with vanilla and dried fruit layered over the cooked agave and a long, mellow finish. The decanter is what sets this bottle apart: it is decorated in the Huichol style, named for the Wixárika people of the Sierra Madre Occidental in Jalisco and Nayarit, whose dense, brightly colored geometric and animal motifs in beadwork and yarn are among the most recognizable folk art in Mexico. Each bottle is finished by hand by Mexican artisans, so the pattern and palette shift from piece to piece, and the stopper is made to match. The Huichol edition is among the brand's most elaborate and most sought after bottles.
