Riqueza Cultural is made at Tequila Selecto de Amatitán, NOM 1459, in Amatitán, Jalisco, in the lowland Tequila Valley. It is 100% blue Weber agave cooked in stone and brick ovens, crushed on a roller mill, fermented with spring water in stainless steel tanks, and double distilled in stainless pot stills, bottled at 40% ABV. Extra Añejo means at least three years in oak, and the long rest gives this tequila its dark amber color and a profile that leans on vanilla, toasted oak and dried fruit over cooked agave, with a lingering finish. The ceramic decanter is a serpent warrior, the third of the three Mexica warrior orders Riqueza Cultural honors alongside the jaguar and the eagle. In Mexica iconography the war serpent represents fire and lightning, and the stopper on this bottle is modeled on that emblem. Every decanter is individually handmade and hand painted by Mexican artisans, so the scale pattern and coloring differ slightly from piece to piece, and the brand releases the warrior series in small runs, which is why specific designs sell out and then reappear months later. Inside is a soft, easy-drinking extra añejo meant to be sipped neat.
