Riqueza Cultural is made at Tequila Selecto de Amatitán, NOM 1459, in Amatitán, Jalisco, in the lowland Tequila Valley. It is 100% blue Weber agave cooked in stone and brick ovens, crushed on a roller mill, fermented with spring water in stainless steel tanks, and double distilled in stainless pot stills, bottled at 40% ABV. As an Extra Añejo it has spent a minimum of three years in oak, the longest category Mexican law defines, which gives the tequila a deep amber color and layers of oak, vanilla and dried fruit over the cooked agave. The bottle is the point of this release: a ceramic figure of an eagle warrior, one of the three Mexica warrior orders the brand honors, the eagle standing for sovereignty of the skies. This version is finished in the Huichol style, the dense, brightly colored patterning of the Wixárika people of the Sierra Madre Occidental in Jalisco and Nayarit, whose beadwork and yarn art are among Mexico's most recognizable folk traditions. Each piece is handmade and hand decorated by Mexican artisans, so detail and color vary bottle to bottle. This is the oldest tequila in the range inside the most elaborate decanter the brand makes.
