Pernod Absinthe Supérieure is the modern revival of the original absinthe created by Henri-Louis Pernod in Pontarlier, France, in 1805, bottled at 68% ABV in the historic style. Grande wormwood and anise are distilled after maceration in wine alcohol, and the best of the distillate is macerated again with anise, grande wormwood, petite wormwood, hyssop and melissa.

The result is a naturally colored absinthe with anise, musk and herbaceous notes and no artificial dyes or added sugar. The ideal serve is the traditional ritual of ice water cascading over a sugar cube, and it is the perfect ingredient to elevate a Sazerac or Corpse Reviver No. 2.
